About

I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University in the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs’ Program on U.S. -Japan Relations. I received my Ph.D. in sociology from Cornell University in 2017.  My research interests  include organizations, work, migration, East Asian societies, and stratification. In particular, I focus on untangling how culture and organizational practices interact in workplaces and labor markets to reproduce, exacerbate, or mitigate economic inequality.  My research has been published in International Migration Review, Work and Occupations,  and Daedalus, and has received funding and recognition from the Fulbright Commission, the Japan Foundation, and the National Science Foundation.
